STRATHCONA COUNTY, Alta. — Three Edmonton residents have been charged following a Strathcona County RCMP investigation into an alleged investment-account takeover scheme involving more than $130,000.
In a November 4, 2026 release, RCMP said the Financial Crime Unit began investigating in November 2025 after money was allegedly removed from clients’ legitimate investment accounts and transferred through banking transactions. Police said investigators reviewed hundreds of documents and obtained seven judicial authorizations.
According to RCMP, the affected investment company recovered the losses through insurance. Investigators also identified 18 additional client accounts allegedly targeted for unauthorized access, but said the company intervened before more funds were removed.
Charges and court dates
Police arrested Edmonton residents Felicia Davies, 22, and Sullayman Jah, 23, on October 28, 2026. Both face charges of fraud over $5,000, identity fraud, laundering proceeds of crime, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. RCMP said Jah faces additional charges involving possession for the purpose of trafficking, theft, forgery and misuse of a credit card.
RCMP said Davies was released from custody. Jah was held for a judicial interim release hearing and subsequently released. Both are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on December 9, 2026.
A third Edmonton resident, King-Wa-Mfumu Tshiama, 23, has been charged with fraud over $5,000, identity fraud, laundering proceeds of crime and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. RCMP said officers had not located Tshiama as of November 4 and had obtained an arrest warrant.
