Growing Concerns for Alberta Economy Over Threat of Trump Tariffs

Donald Trump's proposed tariffs are expected to cause significant job losses in the Alberta oil field as well as increases in cost of gas at the pump.

Few provinces stand to feel the economic impact of America tariffs than Alberta.  With the oil field already having a lack luster year in fiscal performance from 2024, the threat of Trump putting tariffs on Alberta oil and gas could have a major negative influence on both provincial revenue as well as jobs in the province.   Economists expect gas prices to continue to rise due to America threats costing Albertan’s hundreds of dollars per month in added expenses.
