Mother Nature Not Expected to Cooperate with SnoMo Days This Weekend

With temperatures 10 degrees below seasonal averages, this Family Day weekend is going to be a cold one.

For those that have been out here long enough – there were times when the annual SnoMo Days event had to be cancelled due to lack of snow and spring like temperatures.   This year though – it appears nature is going to make this Family Day weekend a bone chilling cold affair with day time highs expected to be in the minus 19 range on Saturday and lows dropping down kickoff Friday night to near minus 30 not taking into account the wind chill.

As of Wednesday, here is what the Weatherman says to expect for the coming long weekend.

  • Friday – Daytime high of minus 20 and low of minus 27
  • Saturday – Daytime high of minus 20 and low of minus 24
  • Sunday – Daytime high of minus 16 and a low of minus 19.

The good news is that the deep freeze looks to break next Thursday with temperatures climbing back up to around the freezing mark and then a week of plus temperatures to end out the month heading into March – and that much closer to spring.

We will keep you updated on any event cancellations or changes to the SnoMo schedule as we get closer to the long weekend.
