Letters Submission

Letters to the editor
We ask that letters be no longer than 500 words, and adhere to standards of fairness, accuracy, legality and civility. Beyond that, we select letters on the basis of timeliness, relevance and diversity. We give strong preference to letters written by people within our circulation area, but occasionally use letters from beyond our region if they concern specific local issues.

We ask letter writers to submit their full names, address and phone numbers for verification purposes. We publish only the writer’s name and community of residence and no contact information.

Letters can be emailed to letters@abpost.ca  They can be Word attachments or plain text in the body of an email.

Everyone is limited to one letter or op-ed every 30 days.  We always receive far more submissions than we can print, so there are no guarantees a particular letter or op-ed will appear.

Op-eds
We welcome comment pieces we call op-eds. These are usually longer than letters, and deal with topics relevant to our readers. They are signed pieces with one sentence at the end that indicates the writer’s expertise or interest in the topic.

Pieces must adhere to standards of fairness, accuracy, legality and civility. Beyond that, we select op-eds on the basis of timeliness, relevance and diversity. The more timely and topical, the better the chance it will get in. Our focus is primarily the Lac Ste Anne County area. We post some op-eds on national topics and very few on international subjects.

We ask writers to submit their full names, address and phone numbers for verification purposes. We publish only the writer’s name and community of residence.

Op-eds can be emailed to letters@abpost.ca. They can be Word attachments or plain text in the body of an email.

Everyone is limited to one letter or op-ed every 60 days unless otherwise discussed with our Editorial department.   As with letters, We always receive far more submissions pieces than we can print, so there are no guarantees a particular letter or op-ed will appear.
