We are currently seeking an experienced Hot Shot Driver to join our team and support our operations in the Edmonton and surrounding area.
Position Overview
As a Hot Shot Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of loads using a 1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer. The ideal candidate has previous hot shot driving experience, a clean driving record, and strong knowledge of load securement and vehicle maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate a 1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer to transport materials and equipment.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while ensuring timely deliveries.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking fluids, tires, and overall vehicle condition.
• Properly load, secure, and unload materials, ensuring all cargo is safely strapped and transported.
• Maintain accurate eLog books and required documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers.
• Monitor vehicle performance and report any maintenance needs or issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of hot shot driving experience.
• Experience pulling a trailer and securing various types of loads.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or higher) with a clean driver’s abstract (must be provided).
• Accident-free for the past 3 years (no insurance claims).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Certifications (Required & Preferred)
• CSTS 2020 (Required)
• Standard First Aid & H2S Alive (Preferred)

Working Conditions
The incumbent is required to work in an office environment with moderate noise. The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving and being exposed to normal office routines.
Physical Requirements
The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
