Edson RCMP seek public assistance in location of missing male – Update 3 Located
Yellowhead County, Alta. – On Mar. 11, 2025, Edson RCMP, with the assistance of RCMP Air Services, were able to locate Bruce Wayne Thompson who was deceased.
Our condolences are with the family and community. Edson RCMP thanks all community members who stepped up to help, lend information and assistance in any way.

Edson RCMP seek public assistance in location of missing male – Update 2
Yellowhead County, Alta. – Edson RCMP are still on the lookout for missing Bruce Wayne Thompson. Investigation has continued and RCMP are asking for any footage from residents, businesses or dashcams in the area of Highway 16 and Range Road 181A around 8:00 P.M. on Mar. 2, 2025.
RCMP would like to thank community members for all of their assistance thusfar.

Edson RCMP seek public assistance in location of missing male – Update
Yellowhead County, Alta. – Edson RCMP are still on the lookout for missing Bruce Wayne Thompson.
A photo of his vehicle has been located and RCMP hope that with its identifying features, someone in the public may recognize it.
Additionally, RCMP are releasing one more photo of Bruce, showing a closer match to the clothing he was last seen in.
Edson RCMP are concerned for Bruce’s safety and well-being and is requesting any businesses or homes in the area, or vehicles with dashcam to check their surveillance where Bruce was last seen to determine direction of travel after he was last seen.

Edson RCMP seek public assistance in location of missing male
Yellowhead County, Alta. – On Mar. 4, 2025, Edson RCMP responded to a report of missing Bruce Wayne Thompson (51), a resident of Yellowhead County.
Bruce was last seen in the area of Range Road 170 in Yellowhead County, where he was seen around 8:00 P.M. on Mar. 2, 2025, traveling eastbound on Highway 16.
Since this time, Bruce has not had any contact with family, friends, or work.
Bruce is described as:
- 51-years-old
- Approximately 150 pounds, slim build
- Approximately 5 foot 10 inches
- Light skin complexion
- Brown eyes
- Short, black hair
- Clean shaven
- Last seen wearing a black hoodie with a wolf and girl graphic on the front, blue jeans and black/grey steel toe work boots
Bruce’s vehicle is described as:
- Ford Explorer Sport Trac
- 2001
- White
- Alberta License plate: CBC1677
